Job Objective

Design and development responsibility for automotive acoustic and thermal insulation components.

Description Of Main Tasks

•Design and develop automotive acoustic and thermal insulation components for thermoforming, aluminum forming, vacuum forming, die cutting and PU foaming applications

•Review customer specific requirements from source package and support RFQ kick off as well as cost calculation process

•Support development or requests for CAD Design, prototypes, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and development of new products for the production plant

•Responsible for all Product Engineering deliverables per Release Gates

•Host and attend project meetings and tech reviews, internally and with customers

•Execute and evaluate product, process, and manufacturing feasibility studies, and product design reviews

•Develop serial production concepts through the APQP process, and support prototype testing, tool development and trials

•Knowledge of APQP 5 phase process, basic knowledge CAD/CATIA, GD&T required

Skills & Competencies

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in a product engineering or plant manufacturing engineering position in the automotive soft trim acoustic & thermal insulation industry
• 5 years of experience with each of the following:
• Advanced product development for new thermoformed and die cut automotive insulation parts
• Developing and refining complex thermoforming design for both molding and trimming of automotive insulation products, as well as 2D, including materials and APQP design review processes.
• Supporting advanced serial product development of thermoformed and die cut automotive insulation products
• Setting production standards for thermoformed and die cut automotive insulation products
• Performing feasibility assessments for new and quoted thermoformed and die cut automotive insulation products
• Performing process designs and pre-production process for thermoformed and die cut automotive insulation products
• English language on C2 level (person is able to express himself/herself spontaneously, fluently and precisely)
• Local language on C1 level (person is able to express himself/herself spontaneously, fluently and precisely)
