Job Objective

The Junior Program Purchasing Manager supports the purchasing sub-project management process and contributes to achieving material cost targets to help maximize profitability (cost, time, quality, innovation, risk). This role assists in meeting functional, cost, availability (quantity and timing), and contractual requirements for delivery items. Responsibilities include supporting the coordination and tracking of purchasing activities related to production material, tooling, and CAD sourcing within assigned projects.

Description of Main Tasks

  • Assist in the selection of materials based on function, quality, availability, and price, and support project-related coordination

  • Support the integration of suppliers into the value-added chain (including involvement in PEP processes)

  • Gather and relay relevant market, technology, and supplier information in collaboration with the Global Material Group Manager

  • Provide support in the commercial and technical coordination of prototypes and pilot series

  • Assist in managing change processes within the project scope

  • Support the purchasing-related coordination across project functions, under the guidance of the Program Purchasing Manager

  • Contribute to the identification of cost reduction opportunities and support implementation efforts at the project level

Skills & Competencies

  • Commercial or technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational training

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in the automotive industry

  • Experience in international collaboration preferred

  • Exposure to leadership tasks or first-line coordination experience is a plus

  • Systematic, independent, and reliable working style

  • Experience participating in or supporting workshops

  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office applications

  • English at B1–B2 level (able to communicate clearly and professionally in a business context)

  • Local language at C1–C2 level (fluent and precise communication)
