Position assignment to the WAYS Career Path Program: Explorer / Entry Level
Job Objective
Support local IT operations (non‑SAP) at the site while gaining hands-on experience in corporate IT environments. Assist the IT team in maintaining systems, following company standards, and delivering reliable user support, while developing technical and professional skills under guidance from senior IT staff and the global IT organization.
Description of Main Tasks
- Provide first-level support for users and IT systems (non‑SAP) as part of the IT Service Desk and Onsite Support team, under supervision
- Assist in ensuring the operation of IT hardware and software at the supervised location(s), including basic problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution according to centrally defined standards
- Support the implementation and adherence to centrally defined information security standards in cooperation with the IT security officer
- Participate in IT projects related to group standards at the supervised location(s) and support project documentation and rollout activities
- Assist with user account setup, access rights, and authorizations following defined procedures
- Support IT cost tracking and basic planning activities at supervised location(s)
- Maintain regular communication with central IT teams (IT Infrastructure and IT Service Desk) and escalate issues as appropriate
Additional Tasks
- Support IT documentation, asset tracking, and inventory management
- Assist with workstation setups, hardware replacements, and software installations
Skills & Competencies
- Currently pursuing or recently completed education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field (vocational training or university)
- Little to no professional experience required; prior internships, coursework, or personal technical projects are an advantage
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common software applications
- Willingness to learn IT troubleshooting, ticket systems, and basic IT service management processes (e.g., ITIL fundamentals)
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach with guidance
- Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Local language: B1 – B2 (able to communicate independently in daily work situations)
- English language: B1 – B2 (able to communicate independently in an international environment)

- Supports IT budget monitoring activities at supervised location(s) in cooperation with the Head of IT Infrastructure and local Plant Management
- Functionally reporting to: Head of IT Infrastructure & Support
